Non-fiction: sports/sports history, science, environmental, biographies, motivational (i.e. business strategies for aspiring entrepreneurs; work that informs or inspires social change or advocates for women & minorities).
Commercial fiction: All genres except romance. Clear and fast-paced plotlines; authoritative writing; solid knowledge of the formula for “a page turner;” solid author platform.
Literary fiction: Really stellar, beautiful writing; unusual and unforgettable characters; unique settings.
Children’s: Books that talk up to children, that inspire and build confidence; I like cleverness and humor; not interested in verse unless it is metrically correct and without lazy rhymes. Prefer middle grade.
